It's fun, and adds some slight realism.

I will likely do a tutorial or release the rig at some point as a template.

Faking air displacement

I always get on these mini runs from time to time where I am trying to add subtle realism to TFD sims. The most recent was air displacement by a moving object. Think of a cigarette burning and the smoke stream travels upwards, but if you wave your hand near it your hand shoves air towards the smoke ...

Cloudscapes

During a down period awhile back I had ventured out into creating larger and more art directable cloudscapes, and had had started implementing a polygon paint technique to create and modify base structures for clouds. These are some of those results. All built in Cinema4D, and rendered with Redshift...

Re: OpenVDB support?

Since it is VDB related, if you know how to use the command line setup for TFD, a bcftovdb converter utility has been added.

I asked about it here:
viewtopic.php?f=4&t=2657

Still looking for an answer though on how to actually use it.

Re: Mixed OS farm, TR not rendering certain cache's

NEVER use mixed OS for rendering. There are foundation algorithm differences with PC/MAC that can result in subtle and not so subtle differences in output. As for the TFD caches, what is probably happening is that Mac cannot read PC file/cache paths, and vice versa. C4D does not seem to have any int...

Re: Custom TFD PC advice needed

I actually spent a good 10+ hours yesterday assembling everything. After sweating bullets not knowing if the thing would even turn on after finishing it. Thankfully it did boot into bios, and I was able to install Windows 8.1 successfully. Early this morning I got the software installed and was able...
