Re: RTX 2080 Ti support, please!

I just got an email telling me to try build 1439. Here's the update info for that build in the Readme file.
v1.0 Build 1439 (2018-10-01)

* Support for Nvidia Turing GPUs.
It works. Finally! :)

RTX 2080 Ti support, please!

I just installed a RTX 2080 Ti, but TFD can't use it. I can only guess it's due to newer CUDA version ?
Would be stellar to have support for this asap so I can perform some benchmarks!

Re: Limits of trial version?

I believe the renders are water marked. It's been years since I tried the demo before buying though so I don't know if there's other limitations.

Re: OPEN VDB!

Does that cover LightWave too? Export OpenVDB from sims done in LightWave, in the next version of TFD?

Re: Modo

I contacted The Foundry about reaching out to you Jascha to help sort things out to get this thing happening for Modo, and they said they wouldn't reach out to you, but were VERY interested in you reaching out to them. You might already have done so, and the Modo support rep just didn't know it. Eit...

So it's TFD that needs updating.

Re: Custom TFD PC advice needed

Get the Titan X. Titan Z, as you say, have the memory split in 6GB+6GB. If you happen to get a Titan X now, make sure it's not the new Pascal chip. If you're not in a hurry, we can hopefully get a TFD version which supports the new Pascal chip, which you'll most likely get a little speed boost from....

Re: GTX Titan X 12 GB or GTX 1080 8GB?

I sold my Titans and purchased the 1080 Unfortunately the 1080 does not work with anything CUDA as of now. I need to wait until developers of the software I use have updated to CUDA 8, which is the lowest version the new Pascal chips will go. It's a mystery to me why nVidia haven't made CUDA 8 compl...

Re: Using GPU, just not a hell of a lot of it.

Certainly looks strange. This is just speculation, not facts. I tested caching to both a regular HDD and then the same sim on SSD. Caching to the SSD obviously was insanely faster, and the GPU load went up to about 75-90%, but when caching to HDD the GPU load was only around 50%. I also notice that ...

Re: Help Please Starting the simulation at .....

I would think you can do that if you set the starting frame at 1000. I've yet to make it actually start simulation with "preview range", it still starts at first frame of the scene.

So adjust the starting frame of the sequence, and give that a shot. :)
