I'm on a MAC w/16 gigs of RAM
I'm in a 1920x1080 AE comp with 1052 frames.
when i hit the restart button, it gets to about frame 51
and i get "ran out of memory" error.
how can this be fixed?
Turbulence running out of memory
Re: Turbulence running out of memory
At high resolutions you should only simulate the region that will contain smoke to speed it up. That is, create a smaller composition that you bring into the full frame and only simulate the small comp. This will also speed up the simulation a lot.
Since CS4 is 32Bit only, it cannot use all of your RAM. The upcoming CS5 version of Turbulence.2D will support to use all of your RAM.

Right, i get what ur saying.
but the effect that i'm doing is tracking an object across the entire frame of the HD region...

Re: Turbulence running out of memory
Maybe you can strip all other aspects from the project file to save memory, create only the simulation and then bring it back in as a rendered movie into the main project.
Also try reducing the cache size parameter to save memory.
