Return to original shape

I've been working with Turbulence for a week now and got comfortable making simulations. Right now I am making smoke that starts as a shape generated from geometry. I can make turbulence and vorticity and effectively distort the shape. Something I am trying to figure out how to do now is how can I get the voxels to return to the original shape. So smoke shape to distorted to return to shape. Any thoughts?
