Clearing the smoke!

Post by Ogunzinho » 21 Jun 2019, 14:03

I have a question about how to really clear the container after a sim is completed, so that very faint smoke doesn't hang about making the render times per-frame longer and longer as it fades away.

I love the overall look of my sim and have automated density dissipation to really hoover up the smoke after a certain point, but it seems to always leave a faint tracer, as it's a halving algorithm, right? If I leave it running, it seems to have no final end point.

Is there a simple way to sort of instruct it "make all smoke vanish by this frame"? or is it a matter of compositing it to fade later?

Many thanks for any help

Raise the clip below value in the density settings
