It'll be in a v1.0 update (as opposed to not-until-v2). At this point i can't be more specific.

Hi, any news on that topic?
Can't it work like LightWave wind (donut and so on) so the vectors guide the particles?
It would be super awesome!
I'm really looking forward to get that feature.
I was really impressed how TFD is fast, and by its OpenGL integration in LightWave.

I hope you can add the article advection function soon

I wonder that too..still to this day.

Though I haven´t touched the demo for over 6 months I think.

Unfortunately, the LW SDK doesn't support particle modifiers in the way that's necessary to implement this feature.

they do make SDK changes for developers...might take an update...but they opened up the whole fiberFX SDK for octane developers which was previously a no go....

Thanks Jascha and Md harrington.

I posted a comment about it in the newtek forums/lightwave features section, and I can just hope the lw team takes notice of it and put it in their agenda if possible to work on the sdk for particles, they also need to get it a bit better intergrated with bullet and nodes too, will have to wait and see.

My patience is running out though ..I am starting to look in to other alternatives such as max fumefx and thinking particles, other options might be using houdini indie, or
simply jump in to cinema4d of course, can wait maybe a year or two, but I need to see some changes and work around lw particles and it´s compability with other components within that time.

Jascha,

Would it be possible to get the specs on the cache file format? I'd like to see if I can roll my own (very limited) particle advection python script.

Thanks,
-Rich
